Post Medieval cast copper alloy coin weight. It is circular in plan with writing in relief on both faces. Obverse; S * D/ 13 . 6/ 3 * 11 Reverse- 13/ SHILLING/ _ 6 Around 1760 to 1773, British makers made sets of weights to weigh the Portuguese moidore and 'joe' series of gold coins; the guinea, half and quarter guinea. These sets consisted of 11 coin-weights. This coin-weight is one out of a set like this.

Cast copper alloy Roman key handle Romano-British key handle, flat sectioned open work, solid cast openwork fleur-de-lis projecting from splayed plinth-like base with three transverse ribs. Below the ribs are two rounded bead-like sections which would have led into the key. This is where it has broken. The terminal of the fleur-de-lis section has a rounded knop.

Cast copper alloy Medieval rotary key handle/bow. Incomplete, bow only. Lozenge shaped bow with four circular holes (diameter c.5mm), one in each corner. The bow terminates in a hollow circular tubular loop (external diameter 14.5mm) set at 90 degrees to the bow. The bow is broken where it would have met the shaft, leaving a broken edge. The knop on the bow presumably had a function. It is possible that it formed another key - it could engage with two prongs. Alternatively it could simply be for suspension. Cast copper alloy Roman rotary key handle/bow. It is an open work trilobate/ fleur-de-lis design with part of the iron shaft still remaining. The terminal has a smal rounded knop and in the angles there are small extensions. The central bar separating the two bottom lobes has broken, leaving it more like a C-shape. The handle widens from the bow, and has two transverse ridges. It then appears to be attached to the iron shaft, broken almost immediately afterwards.

Cast copper alloy Roman key handle. The key is incomplete with only the openwork trilobate or 'fleur de lys' handle surviving. On top of the central lobe is an integral globular knop. The openwork lobes are situated on top of a double rectangular collar. There is a worn break at the base of the collar, where the shank would have been located. The object has an uneven patina and surface with green and brown patches where the original surface is missing. A similar example can be seen in Crummy (1983), figure 142, number 4161.

Cast copper alloy Medieval key. It has a hollow shaft, which is sub-circular, measuring 9.3mm x 7.69mm. The handle is a simple circular loop which has broken, apparently through wear, as at the top as it is narrowed. There is a small raised collar between the shaft and the handle. Just below this there is a small rectangular hole in the shaft. The bit is broken and only a small rectangular protrusion remains.

Copper alloy cast Roman terret, probably a pole-mounted and knobbed type dating to the 1st- 2nd century AD. The loop is circular with three knobs, one at the top and one on each side. The two side knobs have been worn down. The loop itself is also worn through at one point, most likely from use. The loop has a rounded section below, which was decorated with two transverse grooves (now almost worn away) which then narrows to a rectangular sectioned, thinner terminal. This presumably would have been where it attached to the cart or chariot.

A corroded cast copper-alloy key handle of Roman date. The bow consists of a simple moulded openwork trefoil design. The sides loops are small with circular perforations. The central recess is linear with rounded ends. The bow connects to a circular-sectioned solid shaft which may have had moulding on, but it is now very worn. The shaft is broken a short way down, with most of it missing. The object now has a variable mid-green patina.

A copper alloy key dating from the Medieval period. The bow is lozenge shaped with rounded knops on the corners. It has a semi-spherical base, which then leads into a two-pronged section. The lower prong appears complete and has a octagonal cross-section. The upper prong has broken close to the handle. From more complete examples it is likely that this prong would have continued on to the bit. For reference see number 29 in plate XXX (p140) of the London Museum Medieval Catalogue (1940).
