Gold finger ring, probably of Roman date. The hoop consists of a narrow band, slightly elliptical in section. The ovoid bezel, which has been soldered onto the hoop, consists of an outer decorative band of beaded wire which surrounds a box setting for stone, now missing. The setting is crushed and damaged and the hoop bent and distorted. Discussion: the ring is probably of Roman date, although this is not certain. Copper tin alloy Roman finger ring, It has a raised circular bezel which is decorated with grooved lines forming a grid. The shoulders are slightly keeled and are decorated with a grooved triangle pointing away from the bezel on each side. The hoop narrows in width away from the shoulders but thickens on the other axis. The precious metal content of the find is below 10% and therefore it falls outside the provisions of the Treasure Act 1996.

Roman silver finger-ring of keeled type, the hoop widening to triangular angular shoulders which are decorated by grooved lines running away from the bezel. The ring is mounted with a prominent oval bezel consisting of a blue glass (?) intaglio encased within a box setting. The intaglio portrays Mars kneeling left, holding a shield in front of him and a spear across his body. Roman gold finger-ring of keeled type, the D-sectioned hoop widening to sub-triangular angular shoulders with a triangular notch on each edge close to the bezel. Two incised grooves run from where the shoulder meets the bezel to where the shoulder meets the loop on both shoulders, this creates a triangular panel on each shoulder. Copper alloy ring, probably a finger ring, Roman in date. It is formed by a thick, circular cross-sectioned copper aloly wire being curled round into two rows with slightly rounded terminals. Both terminals also have cross-hatched decoration, similar to the more delicate copper and silver Roman snake finger rings. Although this seems very large for a finge ring, there are some similar examples on the PAS database. Cast copper alloy finger ring with enamel on the bezel. Post Medieval in date, it is of a type called signet rings. . The bezel extends above the hoop of the ring. It has red enamel on the top, this has corroded and distorted any pattern or design. The hoop is D-shaped in cross section and the surface is uneven due to corrosion. The bezel is oval in shape and measures 12.49mm x 9.6mm. The ring is also sub-circular measuring 18.87mm x 21.86mm.

A fragment of a silver finger ring which is almost completely flattened. Both ends are broken and are uneven. It is plain on the inside with incised decoration on the outside. This consists of a line at the top and the bottom, with a floral/vegetal motif in the centre. It could be that the rest of the ring would have had an inscription on but this is now missing. Gold mourning ring. It has been squashed slightly out of shape. It has a central raised ridge running round the outside of the ring, in the centre. This is triangular in cross section and there is a small break at one point, possibly where the bezel once was? On either side of this ridge there was originally black enamel but most of this is now missing, only fragments remain. Inside the ring is an incised inscription reading 'Live well and die well' followed by TS stamped inside a square.

Copper alloy Post Medieval finger ring, 18th century in date. It has ac circular hoop which is flat all the way around. The outer face is decorated with vertical lines all around the diameter. On the inner face there are three lions stamped, this is presumably the makers mark. The Norfolk FLO had a case where a copper alloy finger ring had been stamped with a lion and the word GOLD, presumably to try to fool someone into thinking it was a gold ring. The marks on this finger ring may be something similar.

Heavy gold signet ring, finely engraved with a coat of arms, oriented vertically, within a dotted border. Images of the signet ring were examined by Dr Clive Cheesman, College of Arms, who has provided the following information: 'The ring shows the coat of arms of a family called Prestwich. The coat of arms consists of a shield and, displayed on top of a helmet, a crest. The shield is quartered, the first and fourth quarters showing a design consisting of a mermaid, reputedly granted in the mid-16th century to a family called Prestwich of Hulme, Manchester. Cast copper alloy Post Medieval finger ring, with inscription on inside. The finger ring is rounded with a D-sectioned hoop. It has decoration on the outside, which was probably cast in. It consists of symbols, such as a sunburst etc. The inscription is on the inside of the hoop and appears to read 'Colie llevell'. This could refer to a person, or a place, it is not clear. Finger rings such as this can be found in gold, silver and copper alloy in this period. They are used as posy rings and mourning rings, with inscriptions of names, or phrases.
