Cast copper alloy and enamelled Wirral type bow brooch dating from the 2nd century AD.
It is mostly complete with just the headloop, foot, pin and catchplate missing. Below the broken headloop the head has three steps, each of which is decorated with knurling. The upper bow has three vertical panels which are filled with squares of alternating coloured enamel to give a chequerboard effect. The outer two panels have red and blue, the centre has red and yellow. At the waist of the bow is a worn circular knop. The lower bow narrows towards the (now missing) foot.
