Copper alloy fragment, probably from a Medieval chafing dish. It is a W shape in plan with both ends being broken, they would probably have extended upwards to form a loop, this would then have attached onto the dish. The fragment is square in cross-section with slightly bevelled edges and file marks can be seen on the surface. Chafing dishes were domestic utensils made of metal or earthenware for holding burning charcoal or other combustible material. This was then used to cook food or keep it hot at the table.

Copper alloy late Medieval strap end. It is rectangular in plan with the terminal having a rounded extension. The terminal is solid and the two plates split from this to leave a gap for the strap to fit into. At the top there is a single circular rivet which would hold the strap end onto the strap.

Copper alloy and enamel Roman trumpet brooch dating to c.75-175 AD. The base of the bow is missing (along the with catchplate and foot) but other than that it is complete. It is a hinged example, the pin is still intact but it is bent. The headloop is formed by wire, which comes from the axis bar up over the head and is held in place by a plain strip of copper alloy wrapped around the base. Cast copper alloy Roman headstud brooch dating to c. 75- 200 AD. It is almost complete with just a small part of the catchplate missing. The headloop is cast integrally to the brooch, the wings are square ended and have vertical grooves as decoration, either side of the head. The headstud is cast integrally to the bow, it is a raised circle with a small central raised dot. The bow is sub-recatngular in cross section with rounded edges. Cast copper alloy Roman bow brooch, it appears to be a variant of a T-shaped and headstud type, dating to the late 1st century- 2nd century. It is mostly complete. The headloop is slightly broken, it has been cast integrally to the head. The wings are square-ended with two raised vertical lines on each as decoration. The bow has three vertical ridges on the top, which run together and become two by the foot. The It is a hinged type with the axis bar being held within close wings. The pin is missing just the end point, measuring 26.82mm in length.

Copper alloy and enamel cast-cell stud from the late Iron Age- early Roman period. It is circular in plan, flat on the top (enamelled face) and curved on the base. The base is plain and shows no obvious traces of attachment or remains of a stud. The front is split into three rows of three cells by raised lines of copper alloy. This gives a chequerboard pattern. The cells are filled with enamel, alternating red and yellow. Chequerboard enamelling can be seen on other Iron Age objects such as harness equipment, for example two linch pins recorded on the PAS database as WMID-947693…

Cast copper alloy and enamel, Late Iron Age/ Roman belt slide. It is lozenge shaped in plan with an openwork design. The outer edge is decorated with a single row of red enamelled dots, some of which are missing the enamel. The central section looks like a 'swash-N' (as described by Macgregor, 1976) which consists of a 4-armed motif with each arm meeting a corner of the lozenge. Copper alloy pendant, probably Iron Age- Roman in date In plan it is lozenge shape with a spherical knop at each corner. The top knop has a central hole, presumably for suspension. It is open in the centre with the four arms connecting the knops being slim and cylindrical. Although it is simple and plain, the patina suggests an Iron Age- Roman date. Silver-plated sceatta, possibly copying a Primary Series A1 type. There are traces of a bust right, apparently with a radiate crown (cf. Abramson p. 94, Primary Series A, type 2a, A050). The reverse has a large O to one side with angular features, similar to some of the more degenerate types (cf. Abramson p. 95, Rigold $?, R1z/R1b, R160). Prototype, c. 680-710.

Copper alloy decorative mount, late Medieval to Post Medieval in date. It is lozengiform in plan with scalloped edges. At the base is the start of an extension, this would have probably led to a loop or hook to attach the mount. The front is decorated in relief with three lines, starting at the base and spreading out, one straight up, and one to either side. The reverse is flat and plain.
