Fragment of an early Bronze Age flat axe, c. 2500- 1700 BC in date.
It is the blade and the lower part of the shaft which remains. It is corroded all over the surface and this has caused pitting. The blade edge is uneven with bits missing and worn away. The axe has a rectangular cross-section, narrowing towards the blade which splays out from the shaft. The blade measures 46.13mm in width, the shaft 27.97mm.
