Gold Post Medieval finger ring, uncertain date. A plain gold band, with a slightly raised central ridge on the outside. The ring has been squashed out of shape but originally but have been round. The band is thin, and flat on the inside. Judy Rudoe (British Museum) has seen an image of this ring and is happy that it is undiagnostic, so cannot be assigned a pre-1700 date. As such it does not constitute Treasure.

Silver Medieval 'fede' finger-ring. The bezel consists of two clasped hands with a crown above. The crown has two circular hollows in, perhaps for a stone/enamel but nothing now remains. The hoop is decorated with an inscribed pattern which consists of; three squares, at equal interval which have an X filling them and three short lines on the inside of each side. In between the squares are two possible leaf-type motifs.

Cast copper alloy Post Medieval finger ring, with inscription on inside. The finger ring is rounded with a D-sectioned hoop. It has decoration on the outside, which was probably cast in. It consists of symbols, such as a sunburst etc. The inscription is on the inside of the hoop and appears to read 'Colie llevell'. This could refer to a person, or a place, it is not clear. Finger rings such as this can be found in gold, silver and copper alloy in this period. They are used as posy rings and mourning rings, with inscriptions of names, or phrases.

Copper alloy ring, probably a finger ring, Roman in date. It is formed by a thick, circular cross-sectioned copper aloly wire being curled round into two rows with slightly rounded terminals. Both terminals also have cross-hatched decoration, similar to the more delicate copper and silver Roman snake finger rings. Although this seems very large for a finge ring, there are some similar examples on the PAS database. Cast copper alloy finger ring, Post Medieval in date. It is plain with no decoration on either the bezel or the hoop. The hoop is D shaped in cross-section. It has slightly angular shoulders leading up to a flat bezel, a rounded rectangle in plan. This may have had decoration on but there is nothing visible now. The surface may have been treated, perhaps coated with a 'white metal' such as pewter or silver but corrosion has made it unclear.

Cast lead Post Medieval finger ring, a decade ring, dating to c.1600-1800. It is circular in plan with a projecting flat oval shaped bezel (diameter 10.60mm x 8.69mm) and ten small projecting knops around the outer circumference. The bezel is plain but on other examples there are designs and letters. This appears to be a lead version of the more usual copper alloy rings of this type. A fragment of a silver finger ring which is almost completely flattened. Both ends are broken and are uneven. It is plain on the inside with incised decoration on the outside. This consists of a line at the top and the bottom, with a floral/vegetal motif in the centre. It could be that the rest of the ring would have had an inscription on but this is now missing. Cast copper alloy finger ring with enamel on the bezel. Post Medieval in date, it is of a type called signet rings. . The bezel extends above the hoop of the ring. It has red enamel on the top, this has corroded and distorted any pattern or design. The hoop is D-shaped in cross section and the surface is uneven due to corrosion. The bezel is oval in shape and measures 12.49mm x 9.6mm. The ring is also sub-circular measuring 18.87mm x 21.86mm.

Gold finger ring, probably of Roman date. The hoop consists of a narrow band, slightly elliptical in section. The ovoid bezel, which has been soldered onto the hoop, consists of an outer decorative band of beaded wire which surrounds a box setting for stone, now missing. The setting is crushed and damaged and the hoop bent and distorted. Discussion: the ring is probably of Roman date, although this is not certain. A medieval gold posy ring made from a flat band 4.31mm wide and 0.77mm thick. It is engraved with a black-letter inscription in French which reads Jatens tenir (I wait to hold [you]). The inscription starts (and/or ends) with a group of three-pointed motifs, other motifs which are difficult to identify (from the photographs) and a sun with wavy rays. A fragment of a late medieval signet ring. Most of the hoop is lost, but the bezel remains. It is oval and contains the device of a merchant's mark. The ring fragment is silver-gilt and dates from the sixteenth century. Dimensions: length 21 mm, width 8 mm. A gold Medieval finger-ring, with a circular bezel set with a purple stone. The wire hoop is undecorated and has a circular cross-section. There is a small crack in the hoop but it has not broken and is complete. A very similar example was found and reported in 2004- 2004-T377. Probably 13th century Weighing 0.8g . Heavy gold signet ring, finely engraved with a coat of arms, oriented vertically, within a dotted border. Images of the signet ring were examined by Dr Clive Cheesman, College of Arms, who has provided the following information: 'The ring shows the coat of arms of a family called Prestwich. The coat of arms consists of a shield and, displayed on top of a helmet, a crest. The shield is quartered, the first and fourth quarters showing a design consisting of a mermaid, reputedly granted in the mid-16th century to a family called Prestwich of Hulme, Manchester. Copper alloy Post Medieval finger ring, 18th century in date. It has ac circular hoop which is flat all the way around. The outer face is decorated with vertical lines all around the diameter. On the inner face there are three lions stamped, this is presumably the makers mark. The Norfolk FLO had a case where a copper alloy finger ring had been stamped with a lion and the word GOLD, presumably to try to fool someone into thinking it was a gold ring. The marks on this finger ring may be something similar.

Copper alloy finger ring from the Post Medieval period. The hoop is incomplete with the ends not quite meeting. The hoop is rectangular in cross-section and the same width/thickness all the way round. On the outer face are vertical lines splitting the hoop into sections all around.
