Four disc lead late Medieval- Post Medieval cloth seal, unused, dating to 1400- 1800. It is complete, and has been folded in half, but not put together, and not stamped with any design. Disc 1 has the conical stud on the reverse, which fits through the hole of Disc 4. The seal has been folded at the connecting strip between Discs 2 and 3. Each of the discs is sub-circular. Without any markings on it is not possible to date this example more closely as cloth seals were used over a long period of time.

Medieval lead pilgrims ampulla, dating to c. 1350- 1530. It is flask shaped in plan, as with most ampullae it is fairly flat, although the neck of this example is open. It would have had 2 handles, one on each side but one has broken off. The remaining example shows they were triangular, and placed at the base of the neck. Cast lead ship/boat, Post Medieval in date, some sort of toy. The ship is flat on the base so that it sits on a surface. It has its sails unfurled and they are curving to indicate wind from behind the ship. It is a little worn but it appears there is a person sat/stood at the rear of the boat, possibly steering it. This is a toy of some sorts, possibly a version of a shy cock, where the aim would be to knock it over, or possibly just a toy by itself. Lead was used to make toys from the late Medieval period onwards and there is a huge variation.

The other side is slightly less clear, almost looking like a repeating pattern of VIVIVI all the way around. There are examples of spindle whorls with writing and pseudo-writing on, this could be another one.

The lower one (in the image) has a weight of 11.4g, is 31.19mm long and has a diameter of 9.41mm. The Romans did have curse tablets which consisted of writing a curse on a small piece of lead sheet and then rolling it up before offering it to the gods, many have been found in the spring at Bath. It is circular in plan with a projecting flat oval shaped bezel (diameter 10.60mm x 8.69mm) and ten small projecting knops around the outer circumference. Lead Medieval seal matrix, c.1200- 1400. It was originally vesica shaped but has broken almost in half. It is also bent so that the edges now curve slightly downwards. The central motif appears to be either a corn ear or another plant. The inscription reads 'S'INCH....' So it is a person seal, unfortunately not enough of the legend can be made out to work out who owned it. On the reverse, near to the top is a small rounded loop, now filled with mud.
