Cast copper alloy Medieval key handle, c.1300- 1500. Only the handle (bow) and the beginning of the shaft remains. It has an openwork quatrefoil shape which has two small projections at the base where it meets the beginning of the shaft. This has a circular cross section, with a widened bead in the centre.

Cast copper alloy handle, possibly from a drawer, Medieval in date. It is unclear whether the ends are broken, and so the piece is complete. The main part is C-shaped in plan, with a small extension at one end. It is facetted, giving it a pentagonal cross section. Marks can be seen on the surface which are file marks.

Cast copper alloy Post Medieval belt fitting. It is a mount, which would have had a loop to attach hanging pieces to the belt. It is a pointed oval shape in plan, with the main body being domed and hollow on the reverse. At the top is a circular hole, where a rivet would have attached the mount to the belt. The lower end is solid, and has a collar made of three moulded horizontal lines. Below this is the remnants of the broken attachment loop which is set perpendicular to the mount.

Cast copper alloy Roman penannular brooch, a Fowler Type A3, dating to c.100- 350 AD. The brooch itself is complete, although the pin is broken. The brooch has been squashed out of shape, probably whilst in the ground. It has golbular terminals, each with a single moulded collar. One of the terminals appears to have an extra bit of metal, it could be a mis-cast which was not cleaned up. Cast copper alloy and enamel Roman plate brooch, a skeumorphic type in the form of a sandal, dating to the 2nd century AD. It is mostly complete with just the pin and most of the enamel decoration missing. The brooch is flat and in plan is pointed at one end, has a narrow waist in the middle and is rounded at the other end. There is a loop at the rounded end. An incomplete copper alloy trebuchet or tumbrel-type folding coin balance probably dating to the 13th, 14th or 15th century. This type of balance for weighing coins was formed from two arms which pivot in the middle allowing the balance to be opened into a cross shape to be used, or folded flat. One arm would have included an integral pan and weight. Only half of the pan arm survives with the pan half itself missing (it measures 58.33mm in length). The object is 90.40mm long and 6.12mm thick. It is 10.19mm wide at the wdest point and 8.62mm at the narrowest, when measured closed. …
