Two body fragments of Roman pottery.
The outer face is a pinkish cream colour while the inner face is a grey colour. Lines can be seen on the inner face indicating it was made on a wheel.

Base of a Samian ware cup, probably a Dragendorff 33 form, dating to c.50- 230 AD.
Less than half of the base remains with some of the stand. A small fragment of the wall of the cup is left.
Stamped on the inside with a makers mark 'MAXA..' This could be the mark MAXAXIVS, a stamp known to have have been used on pottery produced in Heiligenberg, now in Germany, between 100 and 140 AD. However it is not certain that this is what the stamp says.

Late Medieval handle from a ceramic jug.
It is broken at both ends and its still muddy so the fabric is difficult to see. It appears to be a cream-ish colour. It has a green glaze which varies in shade over the surface. It has two ridges running its length.

Handle of a Medieval pottery jug, green glaze, c. 1200- 1500.
The fabric is a light orange colour on the outside and dark grey on the inside. The outer face of the handle has traces of the light green glaze still remaining. The handle has three moulded grooves running its length. The inner face is broken and appears to be missing the original surface.

Fragment of Roman pottery.
It is made of a cream coloured fabric and has been wheel spun, marks can be seen on the interior surface. The outer surface is decorated with swirled lines marked into the surface. This is a body sherd and has a slight curve. It is triangular in plan.

It is sub-circular in plan with uneven edges. One face has some stamped writing on in relief both around the edge and a line in the centre. The outside is unclear, the line in the centre possibly reads '...CNCE...'
