Lead Medieval spindle whorl. Circular in plan with a central circular perforation. It is biconical with cast decoration on both faces. One side has diagonal lines from the centre to the edge, creating triangular cells, inside of each of which there is a circular pellet. The other side is slightly less clear, almost looking like a repeating pattern of VIVIVI all the way around. There are examples of spindle whorls with writing and pseudo-writing on, this could be another one.

Cast copper alloy Post Medieval finger ring, with inscription on inside. The finger ring is rounded with a D-sectioned hoop. It has decoration on the outside, which was probably cast in. It consists of symbols, such as a sunburst etc. The inscription is on the inside of the hoop and appears to read 'Colie llevell'. This could refer to a person, or a place, it is not clear. Finger rings such as this can be found in gold, silver and copper alloy in this period. They are used as posy rings and mourning rings, with inscriptions of names, or phrases.

Cast copper alloy Medieval harness pendant, c. 1200- 1400. The pendant is shield shaped in plan, with the broken attachment set perpendicular at the top. On the front face there is the top half of an X in red enamel, which would have filled the field. The rest of the field was probably either enamelled in another colour, or gilded. There is a layer of what could be corroded enamel but it no longer has any colour. The reverse is plain. Neolithic- Bronze Age flint scraper, c. 3500 BC - 800 BC. It is made from a pebble flint, and one face still has the cream coloured cortext remaining. In plan it is almost triangular, with a widened round end, narrowing towards a slightly pointed end. The bulb of percussion is at the narrowest end, with some conchoidal ripples visible. There is a large chip at the wider end which is due to plough damage. Jet bead, of uncertain date. It is sub-circular in plan with a central circular hole. The edges are rounded. Lindsay Allason-Jones of Newcastle University has looked at this item and confirmed that it is jet. However she comments that it is impossible to date a generic bead of this type when found out of context, it could have been made in any time from the Bronze Age onwards.

Copper alloy ring, probably a finger ring, Roman in date. It is formed by a thick, circular cross-sectioned copper aloly wire being curled round into two rows with slightly rounded terminals. Both terminals also have cross-hatched decoration, similar to the more delicate copper and silver Roman snake finger rings. Although this seems very large for a finge ring, there are some similar examples on the PAS database. Cast copper alloy coin coin, late Medieval to Post Medieval in date. Obverse- Hand facing upwards= C to right Reverse- 2 crowned busts facing each other. The hand means this is a coin weight from Antwerp. The facing busts probably relate to Ferdinand and Isabella, giving a date of 1469-1504, although it is possible this type carried on past their reign.
