Copper-alloy Roman oval plate brooch with a large carnelian intaglio inset, probably 3rd century. The intaglio is slightly convex and the gem has a length of 24.25mm. The intaglio depictis Hercules being offered a wreath by Victory. It is deeply cut and very detailed. Hercules stands fully to the front and is nude apart from the nebris over his left arm and the crown-type head wear. He is resting his right hand on a club. Cast copper alloy dolphin bow brooch dating from c. 75-175 AD. It is complete, with the only damage being a slightly bent pin. The wings are cylindrical, holding the axis bar with a central slot for the hinged pin. The bow has a triangular cross section with the point being the centre of the front. The bow is plain and narrows to a point at the foot. The catchplate is complete.

Cast copper alloy Roman dolphin brooch, dating to c. 75-175 AD. It is mostly complete with just the pin and some of the catchplate missing. The wings are cylindrical and hold the axis bar for the pin. They are decorated on the front with a symmetrical pattern of grooved lines; 2 vertical lines on each side of the head and then 2 diagonal lines next to that. The bow has the characteristic hump as it leaves the head and then curves down towards the foot, narrowing to a rounded point. Cast copper alloy disc and fantail brooch dating from c.75- 175 AD. It has been silvered/tinned on the surface, some of which remains on the wings and head. The wings are rectangular with a cylindrical covering on the reverse to hold the axis bar. The pin is missing. The upper bow is triangular in plan, the widest part meeting the central circular disc. This is decorated with two concentric raised circles which could have been infilled with enamel but this is all missing now. The lower bow widens towards the end although the edges have broken off.
