Base of a Samian ware cup, probably a Dragendorff 33 form, dating to c.50- 230 AD. Less than half of the base remains with some of the stand. A small fragment of the wall of the cup is left. Stamped on the inside with a makers mark 'MAXA..' This could be the mark MAXAXIVS, a stamp known to have have been used on pottery produced in Heiligenberg, now in Germany, between 100 and 140 AD. However it is not certain that this is what the stamp says.
