Fragment of a cast copper alloy Hod Hill Roman brooch, dating to c.43-70AD. Only part of the bow and some of the catchplate remains. The bow is flat on the back and on the front has 3 raised vertical ridges. It has a thin, rectangular cross section. It is not complete and the edges are uneven. The bow then narrows when the catchplate starts. The foot is missing but it appears there would have been some decoration, possibly a foot knob as the bow is widening just before it.

Incomplete copper-alloy mount of sixth-century date, in the form of a fish, probably a shield-board mount. It is an elongated sub-oval shape, with a slightly flaring extension at one end for the tail of the fish. It has a central raised narrow rectangular panel running the length of the body. There are 4 small fins (surviving at varying lengths), one of which has been repaired by re-attaching it with a copper-alloy rivet. The tail is not complete and has a very uneven edge; it is thinner than the body, and so there is a small step between the two. There is a rivet on the back of the t…
