Cast lead head from the lid of a Post-medieval tobacco jar lid.
This head would have been the handle of the lid of the jar and date to the 18th and 19th centuries. This head depicts a Black-African male with braids in his hair.
It has broken below the neck, where it would have met the lid. The face is slightly worn but all the details remain.
