Object type: LITHIC IMPLEMENT
Broad period: MESOLITHIC
County: Oxfordshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
A probable Late Mesolithic to Neolithic knapped flint tool. The flint is sub circular in plan with evidence of flake removal on both sides. In section the flint is almost plano-convex and although difficult to resolve from a photograph only, there does appear to be some suggestion of edge retouch. The function and date of the tool are difficult to determine but it is most likely upper Mesolithic to early Neolithic. Dimensions: length 48.2mm; width 26.73mm; weight 99.8g.
