An incomplete post medieval cast copper alloy dress fastener (1600-1700). The body of the fastener was probably oval and one pierced attachment lobe remains. There are some traces of a decoration in the form of two concentric circles with an inner decoration which is now indiscernible. The makers mark is a hammer within a shield-shaped cartouche on the lower hemisphere. This makers mark is generally attributed to bells of the 16th-17th century. A Post Medieval cast copper alloy clothing fastener. The fastener has an oval boss with three attachment loops; one at the top of the oval and two to either side of the base. A short broken rectangular length of copper alloy, possibly a strap, projects from the base of the oval between the two attachment loops. The front is decorated with a foliate design, the reverse is hollow. Circa 1500-1700 AD. Dimensions: length 39.73mm; width 16.75mm; thickness 4.46mm; weight 6.2g

An early medieval cast copper alloy harness pendant (c1250-1400). The pendant is lozenge-shaped and has an integral suspension loop which is turned at 90 degrees to the pendant. The loop would have been pierced but is now filled with corrosion. It is decorated with a lion passant guardant overlying four raised horizontal bands. Traces of gilding and blue enamel remain on the surface. Dimensions: length 50.4mm; width 32.5mm; weight 13.08g

The buckle has two symmetrical D-shaped loops and a convex upper surface which slopes downwards at the outer edges. The wire pin survives, looped around the strap bar. A post-medieval copper alloy dress fastener (16th-17th century). The fastener has an oval plate decorated with moulded curling patterns enclosed within two raised concentric ovals which form the borders. On one end there is a rectangular loop which forms the catch-piece for the corresponding hooked fastener. At the junction between the loop and the plate are two loops with a third at the opposite end which formed sewing loops for attachment to clothing. The reverse is plain. A Medieval to Post Medieval uniface lead alloy token with raised cross design on one face; Powell type 14. Leaden tokens were used for a variety of purposes. These ranged from small change, to checks and tallies for services rendered such as hop picking. They were in use from the Medieval period into late Post-Medieval. A number of designs exist that were probably produced in London and circulated widely around the production hub, but since lead is so easy to fabricate by far the majority were made by local artisans and were used extensively in more provincial and rural communities…
