RIC -; BMC 212, note +; B. Woytek, Die Reichspragung des Kaisers Traianus (98-117), p. 422, no. 469. (Checked by SM) Woytek lists four examples of this coin, from Copenhagen, Verona, the American Numismatic Society and the van der Dussen Sale 12 (9 10 1989, lot 1508). Copper alloy Roman coin. This type of coin is known as an 'As' and is of the emperor Nerva (96 - 98 AD). Much of the original surface has been lost due to cleaning. However, it is possible to see the head of the emperor facing right, above which the letters 'IM...' are just visible. Even though the coin is worn, it is still very important that it has been recorded as it helps to advance our understanding of the Romans in Devon.
