A copper alloy Roman bow brooch fragment, Langton Down type. It has a cylindrical spring cover, partly un-curled in the centre and exposing four coils of the spring within. Both ends of the spring case are incomplete. The case is decorated on the front with double incised lines along the top. The bow is flat-backed, and the front is decorated with reeding, consisting of several ribs with central grooves. The catchplate is missing, as is the pin. Copper-alloy Roman bow brooch, Hod Hill type. The pin is missing, and the bow is bent over in a loop, but is otherwise complete. The bow terminal is rolled over upwards, and the bow is flat, with three deep longitudinal grooves along the centre. There are two transverse ridges across the lower bow , behind which the catchplate is placed centrally, trapezoidal in shape and running down to the foot. a copper alloy bow from an Anglo-Saxon long brooch. It has uneven surfaces probably due to having been part of a cremation. It is a rectangular lump with the remains of two rounded terminals on the corners of one edge, and is curved and hollow on the under side. It measures 22.95mm in length, 17.88mm in width, and weighs 10.47g. Other fragments have been found associated with Anglo-Saxon long brooches and other artefacts suggesting a cemetery site in this area, for example YAX SF-3CEB56.

a copper alloy fragment from an Anglo-Saxon cruciform brooch, distorted due to heat probably as the result of cremation. It is the foot of the brooch only, with a horse head terminal and the rest of the brooch missing. The terminal is spatulate below the nostrils. The brooch fragment measures 29.77mm in length and is 8.95mm wide at the lower terminal. It weighs 3.18g. Other fragments have been found associated with Anglo-Saxon long brooches and other artefacts suggesting a cemetery site in this area, for example YAX SF-3CEB56.

It is a narrow rectangular strip, with a curve in the centre, 49.31mm in length and about 5.5mm wide, weighing 2.38g. The head of the brooch is incomplete due to old breaks , and the foot terminal is also incomplete, but with a suggestion of a perforation at the base. a copper alloy fragment probably from an Anglo-Saxon long brooch. It is square, with broken corners and distorted probably as a result of heat. The upper surface is decorated with a plain central zone, outlined by a single band forming on oval shape. Around this is a zone of wavy lines contained by a futher single band close to the edge of the fragment. The under side is plain. The fragment measures 10.76mm in length and is 9.53mm wide. It weighs 4.69g. It could be the central panel from the head of a cruciform or square-headed brooch.

A copper alloy medieval annular brooch with a finger-ring style setting. It is a plain annular frame with a diameter of 21.82mm, and protrudes at one point to form a bezel as for a finger-ring, which has an empty oval-shaped setting. This is set at ninety degrees to the pin, which is attached to a constriction on the frame and has a patch of corrosion at its centre. The brooch frame shows sign of wear on its underside. The pin measures 23.29mm in length, and the brooch weighs 2.72g. A similar example is illustrated in Hattatt, no.1339A, and dates to the thirteenth to fifteenth centuries.

A medieval annular brooch fragment. It is a segment of a brooch which is incomplete due to old breaks, and is broken off at one terminal across the pin constriction. The fragment measures 27.57mm in diameter and is 2.8mm in width, weighing 1.85g. The underside is flat, and the upper surface has four evenly spaced raised settings, now empty but which would have held glass or paste. There is a slight decorative ridge on the brooch between each setting. Annular brooches of this type are likely to date to the fourteenth century.

A copper alloy Early Medieval fragment from a small long brooch. It consists of the foot only, which is flared, and above which are two raised bands of transverse moulding. Each is decorated with three lines, and there are a further two horizontal lines above them. On the reverse the remains of the catchplate protrude from behind the decorated area and 18mm from the foot terminal. The brooch fragment measures 29.24mm in surviving length and is 6.4mm wide. The splayed foot terminal, with one corner missing due to old breaks measures 14.14 mm in surviving width. The object weighs 3.23g.

It is an incomplete triangular shape, with an openwork notched or lobed pattern in the centre. A copper alloy Roman catchplate from a bow brooch, probably a Colchester derivative type, AD 43-100. It consists of the bottom part of the bow which is D-shaped but becoming triangular towards it base, and a triangular-shaped catchplate. There is a large perforation in the centre, and the outer edge is folded in. The fragment measures 25mm in surviving length and is 12.15mm at its widest point. It tapers to 5.63mm at its foot and weighs 4.03g. It resembles examples illustrated from Hacheston in Blagg et al 2004, fig.64, nos.91 and 105.
