Despite surface corrosion traces of moulded linear decoration are present along the spring case and below, at the junction with the top of the bow, which is flat-backed. The leg is straight,forming a long, narrow triangle from the foot to the upper terminal. It has a triangular catchplate with a single circular perforation. The foot terminal is missing. There are two lines of transverse moulding at the upper terminal. The fragment measures 30.1mm in length and tapers in width from 8.3mm at the upper terminal to less than 2mm at the foot. a copper alloy Roman bow brooch fragment. It may be part of a P-shaped brooch, consisting of the semi-cylindrical spring case and the upper part of the bow, the rest missing due to old breaks. The spring case is 10.3mm in width, with part of the spring coils in situ but corroded, and the pin is missing. The bow is flat-backed and D-shaped. The fragment measures 19.6mm in length and weighs 1.97g. An example with a similar shape to its upper part, is illustrated in Hattatt no.493, although it has a wider spring case. Brooches of this type date to the late 2nd to mid 3rd century.

Only part of the spring is present, and the pin missing, and the hook to hold the chord is bent forward on to the bow. The bow is round-fronted and the back is flat. Most of the catchplate is also missing. The brooch measures 63.3mm in length and the width across the wings is 13.76mm. It weighs 7.14g. The spring cover is cylindrical, and broken off at both ends. Part of the spring coil can be seen within. The bow is triangular in section, with a single central longitudinal rib. The brooch measures 19mm in length and is 19.34mm in width across the spring case. It weighs 4.27g. Langton Down examples are known from Hacheston (see Blagg et al, 2004, fig.62). They have a date range from pre-conquest to c.70AD.

a copper alloy Roman finger ring. The hoop is circular, with a flat back and faceted section. It broadens from the centre of the hoop (2.56mm) to the shoulder (3.72mm) where there is square moulded decoration on either side of the bezel. There are traces of white adhesive visible within the oval-shaped bezel but the gem is missing. The bezel measures 7.44mm in length and 6.23mm in width. The ring has an external diameter of 18.47mm, and weighs 1.52g A similar example from Hacheston is illustrated in Blagg et al, 2004, fig.75 no.75. The ring is likely to date from the late second century.
