A lead weight, or possible gaming piece of unknown date. It is conical with a roughly circular base 11.9mm in diameter, and is 9.06mm in height. It weighs 5.51g. The object resembles gaming pieces of the Viking period, although unlike this one, these are usually domed and can be hollow. Roman coin weights can be a similar shape, being conical and made of lead, but are generally much larger as with an example from Colchester (Crummy,1983, p.101,no.2510).

A lead weight, of possible Roman or later date. It is a conical shape with a flat base in which there are traces of apparent iron staining, although there is no magnetic reaction. It is possible that an iron shank or loop was once attached. The weight measures is 24.14mm in height, and the base is roughly oval, 25.54mm x 21.91mm. It weighs 44.34g.

A lead weight of unknown date. It stands on a flat, roughly circular base, and is a truncated pyramid shape, with uneven faceted sides. There is a circular hole at the centre of the base but it is unclear whether the object is perforated through to the top. It measures 13.8mm in diameter, 13.14mm in height and weighs 13.25g. This weight was discovered with a number of Roman coins and pottery.

A standing lead weight of unknown date. It is a cone shape with faceted sides rising from a polygonal base 16.11mm in diameter, to a length of 24.84mm. The apex is shaped to a rectangle, 10.29mm x 6.62mm, and is perforated with a neat circular hole. The weight weighs 30.2g. Biggs describes similar weights as probably dating to the medieval period, but the neatness and finishing of this example suggests a more recent date.

A lead apothecary's weight, Late Medieval to Post-Medieval date. It is square (18.83 x 19.38mm) and c.2mm thick and weighs 5.76g. There is a circular stamp 16.3mm in diameter filling one side, with a long heart shape, bisected longitudinally, and the initials S and I to either side, and T above. Biggs (1992, p.7) notes that London apothecaries belonged to the Grocers Company at this time, which played a major part in the standardisation of trade weights.

Two perforated lead weights, both with flat bases: a) conical weight with truncated upper terminal and irregular-shaped base. It has an hexagonal-shaped perforation, base 24.6mm x 23.33mm, height 19.1mm, weight 34.24g. b) plano-convex shape with approximately circular base and roughly square-shaped perforation, base 23.72mm x 21.95mm, height 2.42mm, weight 33.49g. Weights such as these could have been used for spindle whorls (b) or fishing weights. They most likely date to medieval to Post-medieval periods.

A cast lead weight of uncertain date. It is a trapezium in shape, 35.15mm in length, and tapers in width from 21.75mm at one shorter side to 26.15mm at the other. There is a metal loop (not iron, and probably copper alloy) set into the shortest side. The weight is 12.04mm thick and weighs 101.43g. The existence of the loop suggests that this is probably a steelyard weight.
