A copper alloy Roman bow brooch, Colchester derivative with double- pierced lug. It consists of the bow, wings and spring coil but the pin is missing. The wings are short and semi-circular, with a spring chord held by the upper hole in the lug, and the axis bar below with a coil of eight springs. The bow is D-shaped with a central rib, very worn but with traces of wavy line decoration along it. A copper alloy Roman disc brooch fragment. About half of a circular brooch survives, with abraded edges and pitted surfaces. There is a perforation at the centre 2.8mm in diameter, surrounded by an incised line 8.15mm in diameter. There may be further small circles decorating the surface concentrically, but these are hard to distinguish from the wear marks. On the reverse is part of the catchplate mechanism for fastening a pin (missing). The brooch measures 28.32mm in diameter, 1.57mm in thickness and weighs 4.04g. Disc brooches date to the second century AD.

An incomplete copper alloy Roman plate brooch. It is circular, worn around the circumference with an area missing. There is a six-pointed star motif, around a central dot. There are traces of blue enamel on some of the triangular areas created by the star design, and some whitish material present within the grooves of the star. A Roman copper alloy incomplete disc brooch. The edges around the circumference are worn but appear to be down-turned, and there is one rear projecting lug for pin attachment(pin missing). The style is umbonate, with a depression at the centre of the dome, and five grooves regularly spaced around it. There is a single plain rib surrounding the dome, and a second concentric knurled rib close to the circumference. A copper alloy Roman trumpet-headed booch. It is worn, and bent out of shape. The body of the brooch is composed of two pelta shapes, with the arms joining to create two open circles. The bow continues to its foot where it finishes with a terminal knop, and small catchplate behind. The neck of the brooch is bent at right angles from the body, and the head is round, with only a fragment of the chain loop surviving at the top. A copper alloy Colchester derivative bow brooch, upper bow and wings only. It is a hinged type, with the wings folded round to form cylindrical cases around the axis bar, and the pin is in situ, hinged in the centre. The wings are plain, and the bow is D-shaped, with a central rib on the shoulder. The brooch measures 27.99mm in width across the wings, 28.27mm in surviving length, and weighs 9.17g. It resembles an example from Hatcheston (Blagg 2004, p.64, no.116) but without the moulded decoration on the wings.

A copper alloy catchplate fragment from a Roman bow brooch. The bow is D-shaped and the foot is squared off, with the side of the catchplate strongly grooved to receive a pin. The flat plate is perforated with a single triangular-shaped hole. There are traces of a white metal coating on the bow. The fragment measures 24.98mm in length, 10.68mm maximum width, and weighs 1.41g. The bow measures 2.95mm in width.

An Iron Age La Tene III type brooch fragment. The pin is missing and the coil terminal is incomplete due to old breaks. The bow is flat and triangular in shape, tapering towards the foot. There is indeterminate moulding on the bow, obscured by the abraded surface of the metal. The foot is rectangular in section, and is bent backwards, terminating with an incomplete catchplate. A copper alloy Roman catchplate from a bow brooch, probably a Colchester derivative type, AD 43-100. It consists of the bottom part of the bow which is D-shaped but becoming triangular towards it base, and a triangular-shaped catchplate. There is a large perforation in the centre, and the outer edge is folded in. The fragment measures 25mm in surviving length and is 12.15mm at its widest point. It tapers to 5.63mm at its foot and weighs 4.03g. It resembles examples illustrated from Hacheston in Blagg et al 2004, fig.64, nos.91 and 105.

It is an incomplete triangular shape, with an openwork notched or lobed pattern in the centre. The bow is triangular in section, and there is a strong groove for the pin adjacent to the outside edge which curls forward over it. A copper alloy Early Medieval fragment from a small long brooch. It consists of the foot only, which is flared, and above which are two raised bands of transverse moulding. Each is decorated with three lines, and there are a further two horizontal lines above them. On the reverse the remains of the catchplate protrude from behind the decorated area and 18mm from the foot terminal. The brooch fragment measures 29.24mm in surviving length and is 6.4mm wide. The splayed foot terminal, with one corner missing due to old breaks measures 14.14 mm in surviving width. The object weighs 3.23g.

A medieval annular brooch fragment. It is a segment of a brooch which is incomplete due to old breaks, and is broken off at one terminal across the pin constriction. The fragment measures 27.57mm in diameter and is 2.8mm in width, weighing 1.85g. The underside is flat, and the upper surface has four evenly spaced raised settings, now empty but which would have held glass or paste. There is a slight decorative ridge on the brooch between each setting. Annular brooches of this type are likely to date to the fourteenth century.
