an early medieval or later stone spindle whorl. It is circular with a hole pierced through the centre. One side is flattened around the hole. The outer surface is smooth and has signs of wear including some pitting. It is 29.54mm in diameter and 21.46mm in height, and weighs 23.45g.
Spindle whorls of this type were current from the Anglo-Saxon period onwards, but there are no associations to qualify the date of this piece.
