A cast copper alloy Medieval or Post Medieval belt hanger. The attachment terminal is an oval loop, with rectangular sides c. 4.6mm in width and the loop measuring 17.7mm in length. The shaft beneath the loop has a narrow collar 3.75mm wide and is curved round to form a semi-circular hook, the terminal of which is missing due to old breaks. The curved shaft is a flattened oval shape in section and c.5mm in width. The hanger measures 36.83mm in overal length, 20.13mm in width and weighs 7.97g. Its function is uncertain, but a belt was probably passed through the loop which allowed the …

A Post-Medieval copper alloy fragment probably from a belt fitting or strap-fastener. It is part of a sheet metal fitting and is trapezoidal in shape, being 29.01mm in width and 0.85mm in thickness. Four rivet holes formed from a ring and dot stamp decorate both true edges, and the object has been broken off in antiquity to a length of 26.66mm. It weighs 3.85g. The punched decoration was applied to the upper surface, and traces of letters can also be determined, with 'ho' and 'A1' (or 'Al') just being legible. The style suggests a 17th-18th century date.
