A copper alloy Medieval buckle frame. It is an oval frame which is faceted, and has an ornate outside edge with two knops outlined by grooves to either side of a pin notch. The bar is offset and narrowed, with knops to top and bottom. The pin is wrapped around the bar and moves freely. It tapers to a sharp point. The buckle frame measures 17.41mm in length, 24.86mm in width and weighs 3.14g. The pin is a narrow rectangular strip, 2.25mm in width and 14.9mm in length excluding the loop around the bar.

A copper alloy Medieval buckle frame and plate. The frame is D-shaped and faceted, with the bar offset and narrowed, with thickened knops to top and bottom. A shield-shaped plate is attached to the bar, and is recessed to top and bottom to accommodate the knops on the bar. There is a pin-slot, but the pin is now missing. The plate wraps around the bar, and fixes with two rivets, parts of which are still in situ. One of the rivet holes is incomplete due to old breaks. A copper alloy Post-Medieval buckle frame. It is a double-looped frame, with a rectangular outer loop and D-shaped inner loop. The outside edge is straight, with a moulded knop or possible pin rest projecting from the centre. There is moulding also at the centre of the D-shaped loop. The frame is triangular or faceted in section, with a flat back. It measures 21.34mm in length, 14.48mm in width and weighs 2.19g.

A copper alloy Medieval buckle frame. It is oval and resembles a Meols type 2 shape. The frame is thickened to top and bottom of the bar, which is narrow and circular in section. The outside edge is expanded and drawn outwards at its centre, thus creating two small, decorative peaks. there are traces of gilding on the outer surface of the frame. The buckle measures 13.55mm in length, 19.75mm in width and weighs 2.08g.

A copper alloy Post-Medieval buckle frame fragment. It is incomplete due to old breaks, and is part of an oval double-looped frame. One loop survives with part of the central bar. The outside edge is expanded at its centre into a triangular shape with a possible foliate decoration. There is a slight knop at the top of the central bar. the back of the frame is flat. The fragment measures 20.38mm in surviving length, 19.85mm in width and weighs 1.8g.

The frame appears to be deliberately angled, and measures 25.84mm in external diameter, and 3.55mm in average width. It weighs 2.09g.

It is a rectangular plate made from folded sheet metal, and has broken off across the fold where there is also a rectangular pin slot. At the opposite terminal there is a single perforation for a rivet, centrally placed and close to the edge. The plate measures 25.98mm in length, 10.81mm in width and weighs 0.96g.

A sheet copper alloy Medieval buckle plate or possible strap end. It is rectangular and composed of two pieces of metal which are linked by four small rivets, one near each corner. A fragment of leather or fabric can be seen trapped between the two. There is a circular perforation in the centre, with a diameter of 4.3mm. The object measures 24.79mm in length, 17.19mm in width, 3.6mm in thickness, and weighs 3.71g.

A cast copper alloy Medieval spur buckle (c.1200-c.1400 AD). The buckle is D-shaped in section, with an oval loop having an expanded outside edge, and an integral plate. Within the plate, close to the loop, there is a circular perforation of 2.3mm in diameter for the missing pin. The plate is a narow rectangular shape with a pointed arrow-like terminal. There are bands of moulding forming a collar by the perforation, and a further, smaller collar about half-way along the plate. A copper alloy Medieval to Post-medieval cast copper alloy buckle frame. It is a double looped or spectacle frame, with oval shaped loops. The frame is flat-backed and the sides are faceted. No signs of tool marks are visible, there are pacthes of corrosion, possibly from an iron pin, at the centre of the bar and on one outside edge. The buckle frame measures 22mm in length, 18mm in width, 3.05mm in thickness and weighs 3.04g. Buckles of this type date from Late Medeval to Post- Medieval times.

A Post-Medieval copper alloy rectangular buckle frame with a central bar. The frame is worn and the bar has been distorted possibly by plough damage. The frame has decorative moulding on its outside edge and a notch for a pin-rest, and there are paired knops at the corners with transverse groove decoration. The buckle measures 39.37mm in length, 35.65mm in width and weighs 12.03g.

A copper alloy sheet metal Medieval buckle plate. It is a rectangular, and wrapped round a separate bar which is in situ. There is a slot at the centre of the fold with a fragment of pin remaining. There is corrosion product adhering to remains of strapping caught between the folded plate, but it is not possible to determine whether this is fabric or leather. There are two rivet holes visible on the underside of the plate, one at each outer corner. The plate measures 32.59mm in length, 19.16mm in width, and weighs 9.6g.
