a copper alloy Roman P-shaped brooch fragment. It has the remains of a semi-cylindrical spring case with a projecting central knop with a flat collar, and the upper part of the bow. Despite surface corrosion traces of moulded linear decoration are present along the spring case and below, at the junction with the top of the bow, which is flat-backed. a copper alloy Roman brooch fragment, Hod Hill type. It is the leg of the brooch only, with both terminals incomplete due to old breaks. The leg is straight,forming a long, narrow triangle from the foot to the upper terminal. It has a triangular catchplate with a single circular perforation. The foot terminal is missing. There are two lines of transverse moulding at the upper terminal. The fragment measures 30.1mm in length and tapers in width from 8.3mm at the upper terminal to less than 2mm at the foot. a copper alloy Roman bow brooch fragment. It may be part of a P-shaped brooch, consisting of the semi-cylindrical spring case and the upper part of the bow, the rest missing due to old breaks. The spring case is 10.3mm in width, with part of the spring coils in situ but corroded, and the pin is missing. The bow is flat-backed and D-shaped. The fragment measures 19.6mm in length and weighs 1.97g. An example with a similar shape to its upper part, is illustrated in Hattatt no.493, although it has a wider spring case. Brooches of this type date to the late 2nd to mid 3rd century.

a copper alloy Roman bow brooch, Colchester type, first century AD. It has two flat plain wings, one incomplete due to old breaks. Only part of the spring is present, and the pin missing, and the hook to hold the chord is bent forward on to the bow. The bow is round-fronted and the back is flat. Most of the catchplate is also missing. The brooch measures 63.3mm in length and the width across the wings is 13.76mm. It weighs 7.14g. A similar brooch from Hacheston is illustrated in Blagg et al, 2004, no.63

a copper alloy Roman bow brooch fragment, Colchester derivative type with a double pierced lug spring attachment.The wings are semi-cylindrical, and half the spring, with 6 turns, is present. The axis bar is incomplete. The wings have a pair of grooves next to the bow junction. The bow has a pronounced central rib, with concave mouldings on either side, but the bow is incomplete, due to old breaks, and the catchplate and pin are missing. a copper alloy bow brooch fragment, La tene III type, dating to late 1st century BC - early 1st century AD. it is the base of the bow only, with catchplate. It is a narrow triangular shape, straight in profile, with the upper terminal incomplete due to old breaks. There are two grooved lines close to the long edges. The bow measures 28.42mm in length and is 6.3mm wide at the upper terminal, tapering almost to a point at the opposite end. The catchplate The fragment weighs 0.88g.
