a copper alloy medieval strap end of fourteenth century date. It is rectangular, with one short terminal being straight, and the opposite one being rounded (or tongue-shaped). There is one rivet in each corner of the straight edge, and fragments of leather are just visible between the metal plates. About half-way along the strap end there is openwork decoration in the form of two pairs of piercings, two smaller circles above two larger ones. The surfaces are very worn and eroded. It measures 35.11mm in length and 16.04mm in width at the straight edge, weighing 6.3g.

A Medieval copper strap end mount with bar mount attachment. The strap end is a rectangular plate with a pointed terminal, with a rivet hole with rivet in situ near the point. At the opposite terminal there is a bar mount attached by a single rivet. The object measures 14.56mm in length, 10.16mm in width, and weighs 0.87g.

a copper alloy late Anglo-Saxon strap end fragment. It is a rectangular plate and measures 19.65mm in length by 24.76mm in width, and is probably the upper terminal of a tongue-shaped strap-end, Thomas type E. The lower, decorated part is missing, having been broken off in antiquity. There are two circular holes , each c.6,4mm in diameter, near the corners of the terminal, and parts of more open-work patterning is visible just below these, within the broken edge of the object. A Medieval cast copper alloy strap end. It is narrow and rectangular, finishing with a cruciform knop at one terminal, and with straight edges at the attachment edge. It is made from two plates attached to each other with three rivets, one at the attachment edge,one above the knopped terminal and one set into the cruciform knop. The strap end measures 55.13mm in length and 7.34mm at the attachment edge. It weighs 4.02g. Similar strap ends are recorded from medieval Norwich (Margeson 1993, nos 232, 234) and London (Egan and Pritchard 1991, fig.94, no.671) and date to the fourteenth century.

A copper alloy Medieval strap-end. It is one piece only from a composite strap-end, and is rectangular with inward-curving sides at one end which flare to a pointed terminal knop. The opposite terminal is straight, and there is a square-shaped perforation close to the centre at the terminal edge. The knop and lower part of the strap-end have traces of incised line decoration, corrosion and white metal coating. It measures 27.65mm in length, 10.37mm in width and weighs 1.76g. A copper alloy medieval strap end. It is a rectangular composite strap-end with a sheet spacer occupying the whole width. The lower terminal has gently rounded corners and there is a central knop. At the upper terminal the front attachment edge is straight, and the rear edge is rounded. There is a single rivet in situ connecting the front and rear plates close to the attchment edge. The strap-end measures 29.93mm in length, 10.29mm in width, and weighs 2.97g. Examples of similar type from medieval London date to the fourteenth century. (Egan,1991, 699, 701)

It is a composite, tapering rectangular strap-end with openwork decoration in the form of a circular perforation on one plate, and an incomplete trefoil on the other. A Medieval probable strap end fragment or part of a plate from folding clasp. It is a made from folded sheet metal, and is rectangular, both short terminals being incomplete due to old breaks. The plate measures 15.99mm in surviving length and varies a little in width, from 11.94mm at one short edge to 9.77mm at the other. It is decorated on the upper surface with three raised ribs and grooves, running longitudinally, with two rivet holes, one near each short terminal, and the upper one having a rivet in situ. There is incised line decoration running radially on both long sides and the lower edge, and rocker decoration over the ribs. The upper, open terminal is slightly concave. The underside of the strap end is plain. It measures 23.07mm in length, 13.59mm in width and weighs 2.47g.

The lower part is circular, whilst the upper part is trapezoidal, and flares to its upper terminal which has a wavy edge. The forked spacer can be seen between the two parts of the strap end and is 2.5mm in thickness, having rounded arms. There is no trace of decoration on either face of the strap end. A copper alloy strap end of Medieval date. It is a composite strap end with a sheet spacer, the details of which cannot be determined because of corrosion product. It is rectangular with a straight attachment edge, and there is a rivet hole at the centre of the backplate. The lower terminal is chamfered and comes to a slight knop at the centre. The strap end measures 25.6mm in length, 14.06mm in width and weighs 3.79g. A similar example from medieval London is recorded from a fourteenth century context. (Egan, 1991, p147, no.698)

There is a terminal knop at the lower terminal. The shape of the attachment terminal cannot be determined as it has been broken off leaving a straight edge. The strap end has much surface corrosion which obscures any decoration and trace of rivets. The object measures 28.51mm in surviving length, 9.00mm in width, and weighs 1.81g.

A copper alloy Medieval strap end. It is rectangular, 9.54mm in width and 15.3mm in length. The open end is incomplete, broken off across a single centrally-placed rivet hole. There are traces of cloth or leather remaining within the strap end. The closed end is a biconcave shape, finishing with a central knop above which there is a single rivet. There are traces of a white metal coating on both sides. The strap end weighs 0.91g and dates to the fourteenth century AD. A similar example from medieval London is illustrated in Egan and Pritchard, 1991, p.147, no.694.
