A copper alloy Early Medieval or later mount. It has a central domed area which is sub-rectangular, and the remains of four protruding tabs, only one of which is intact. This is flat and rectangular, with a rounded outside edge and a circular perforation for a rivet cutting through to the body of the mount. The other three have all broken off, leaving the semi-circular outline of the former rivet holes. The domed area is decorated with a human face. Beneath a full fringe are the outlines of two eyes, of irregular oval shape. The metalwork is worn and details of other features are uncl…

An Early Medieval copper alloy mount, incomplete due to old breaks. The mount is an oval shape tapering on one side to a square-shaped projection, the outside edge of which has a slight bifurcation. There is a circular perforation in the centre of the projection. When held with the projection uppermost, the upper surface is chip-carved with incised lines forming a pattern of two mirror-image, double spirals linked by an over-arching line which creates a pelta shape, filled with a lozenge. A line descends from this, between the two spirals, terminating with a circular knop. There are p…

A copper alloy relief-decorated early Anglo-Saxon mount. It is rectangular, 18.82mm x 16.6mm and has a raised rim of 2mm width. It weighs 3.4g. Within the undecorated raised border is a field of relief Style I decoration. The details are now obscured by corrosion, but when held with long sides to top and bottom it appears to be the right way up. There is a face, apparently human, in the top right corner, with one pellet eye clearly visible. There is a clear curl of hair to the left of the eye, but there are also some features next to the border, perhaps more of the face, which are …

A copper alloy bar-shaped mount of probable early medieval date. It is rectangular with a U-shaped profile, and is incomplete at one short terminal, due to old breaks. The opposite terminal is lobed, with the remains of an iron rivet in some white material occupying the upper surface of the lobe. The mount is divided into segments by a longitudinal line along the centre, and short lines bisecting it and running off to the long edges. At the centre of the mount, on the underside, the copper alloy thickens to accommodate another iron rivet, the head of which is square and protrudes from …
