A copper alloy Post-Medieval coin weight. It was struck in Antwerp, and the reverse bears the hand mark, the symbol for Antwerp. The figures 84 placed around the hand give the date of 1584, and the initials C I with a star indicate the maker Cornelis Janssen. These devices are contained within a circle of laurel . The obverse shows a crown over a double rose indicating that the maker was appointed by the sovereign, with the initials EC to either side. The weight is square, measuring 15.32mm x 15.74mm and is 2mm thick, weighing 3.52g.

A copper alloy Medieval or Post-Medieval coin weight. It is a round flan and uniface, with the design of three lis in a shield with crown over. The flan is 11.21mm in diameter, 2.04mm in thickness and weighs 1.46g. This is most likely a weight for the English or French half ecu, which was issued from the reign of Charles VII, 1422-61, to Louis XI, 1436-75AD. The ecu was current in England in 1525, for four shillings. It is not possible to say whether this is a French or English coin weight. ( Withers 1995, Lions, Ships and Angels, p39).

A Medieval cast copper alloy coin weight, fleur de lis and crown type. It is a uniface weight, with a crown over fleur de lis motif in the centre of the field within an inner circle. There is also a circumferential circle. A small indent at the centre of the weight results from marking the flan when turned to the correct size. This type of weight was made according to an Act of Parliament of 1421 (Withers, p34), and went out of production circa 1471. The weight measures 11.63mm in diameter, 2.11mm in thickness and weighs 1.33g.

A copper alloy Post Medieval coin weight. It is a square weight, 14.1mm x 14.84mm and 2.6mm in thickness, and weighs 3.71g. The weight is corroded and few details can be deciphered, other than a circle on one face, with the suggestion of a crown above a straight line, probably from a Roman numeral defining the coin weight value. It most probably belongs to the series of coin weights produced between 1588-1632.

A copper alloy coin weight of early seventeenth century date. It is a square weight measuring 14.04mm x 14.49mm, 4.15mm inthickness and weighing 6.2g.Its surfaces are worn and no detail of verification mark or amount can be seen. Its size suggests either a half-unite (5.01g) or an Angel (4.2g) but obviously weighs more than either of these. The spur ryal seems closer in weight ( 6.36g) but is a larger square. Such coin weights were in common use during the decade 1620-30 AD

a post medieval copper alloy coin weight. It is square and corroded, with a circle incised on one face, containing a central image (illegible) with the letter B and P or F one on either side. the lettering has serifs and appears to be of 16th-17th century type. There may be letters inscribed around the base of the figure, starting with 'n'.
