a copper alloy incomplete Post-medieval candlestick socket. It is cylindrical, with only half of the body extant, and tapers to a short stub base. There is circumferential groove decoration just above the base. The socket measures 28.49mm in length with an external circulference of 18.35mm. The knop at the base is 9mm in diameter, and the socket weighs 14.6g.
This type of candlestick is illustrated in the Finds Research Group's datasheet, and is dated from late fifteenth to sixteenth centuries .
