A copper alloy Medieval to Post-medieval cast copper alloy buckle frame. It is a double looped or spectacle frame, with oval shaped loops. The frame is flat-backed and the sides are faceted. No signs of tool marks are visible, there are pacthes of corrosion, possibly from an iron pin, at the centre of the bar and on one outside edge. The buckle frame measures 22mm in length, 18mm in width, 3.05mm in thickness and weighs 3.04g. Buckles of this type date from Late Medeval to Post- Medieval times.

A copper alloy Roman brooch fragment. It is part of a crossbow (light) type, which has been bent out of shape, probably as the result of plough damage. The wings are incomplete, with the case being circular and traces of a central bar just visible round which four or five surviving coils can be seen. The sides and head knobs are missing. The bow is out of shape, curved round to form a circle, and is circular in section, with some faceting. It measures 4.1mm in thickness at the top, tapering to 2.5mm lower down. A copper alloy Medieval vessel handle fragment. It is curved with a triangular section, becoming trapezoidal, and the surfaces are corroded and sooted. the fragment measures 47.25mm in length, 23mm in width, 18.3mm in thickness and weighs 77.89g. It is probably part of the handle from a skillet or ewer. A similar handle fragment is illustrated in Egan 1998, The Medieval Household, fig 134, no.464.

A copper alloy Roman brooch. It is a near-complete Colchester derivative double lug type with wings, spring coil, bow and catch plate in tact and only the lower part of the pin missing, due to old breaks. The wings are semi circular with no apparent moulding, although patination of themetal and corrosion product both obscure the surface. The chord passes throught the upper lug, and the spring with eight coils is held on the bar that passes through the lower lug. The pin extends for 18.9mm. A copper alloy Medieval pin or nail head. The head is solid, domed and faceted around its sides, tapering to its shaft which has a square section and a blunt tip. The dome measures 9.79mm in diameter, and the pin is 21mm in length, weighing 3.97g. It may have been used as an upholstery nail, for furniture or a box.

A copper alloy medieval mount, probably from a box or casket. It is triangular in shape, with a pointed arrow-shaped terminal, expanding to a wider and slightly curved opposite terminal. There is a collar between the two terminals, and a rib or catch on the underside, running from the centre of the object to the point. The rounded terminal is incomplete due to old breaks. The mount measures 25.45mm in length, 9.52mm in width at its broadest, and weighs 2.16g.

A Post-Medieval copper alloy rectangular buckle frame with a central bar. The frame is worn and the bar has been distorted possibly by plough damage. The frame has decorative moulding on its outside edge and a notch for a pin-rest, and there are paired knops at the corners with transverse groove decoration. The buckle measures 39.37mm in length, 35.65mm in width and weighs 12.03g.

A copper alloy stylus, probably of Early Medieval date. The metal is worn and patinated, obscuring any decoration, although there are traces of bands of grooved lines on the shaft. The stylus has a flat terminal ( or eraser) which is triangular in shape, and its shaft is circular in section, terminating in a point. The shaft is bent and the lower section and terminal have been bent at right angles, forming a square hook shape. The stylus measures 85.35mm in length (bent), and the shaft is 3.8mm in diameter. A copper alloy Late Medieval to Post-medieval fragment from a vessel leg or possibly from a handle. The object is rectangular, tapering to one terminal, and has a rectangular cross-section. The surfaces are extremely worn and corroded. The narrowed end shows signs of wear and the opposite terminal is incomplete due to old breaks. The object measures 35.4mm in length, 17.24mm in width at the broken end tapering to 11.23mm. It is 10.23mm in thickness, tapering to 7.25mm, and weighs 21.06g.

A copper alloy sheet metal Medieval buckle plate. It is a rectangular, and wrapped round a separate bar which is in situ. There is a slot at the centre of the fold with a fragment of pin remaining. There is corrosion product adhering to remains of strapping caught between the folded plate, but it is not possible to determine whether this is fabric or leather. There are two rivet holes visible on the underside of the plate, one at each outer corner. The plate measures 32.59mm in length, 19.16mm in width, and weighs 9.6g.

Copper alloy Medieval mount or stud. It is circular with traces of moulded decoration around the circumference and there is a lion within the field, advancing left with raised, curled tail. Traces of dark blue enamel can be detected across the upper surface.There is a single square-shanked integral stud on the reverse. The mount measures 17.23mm in diameter and weighs 3.98g. This type of stud was most likely intended as a harness fitting and to be of 13th to 14th century date.

Copper alloy Post-Medieval mount, probably from a book or casket. It is a narrow rectangular strip with lozenge shaped terminals, and integral studs on the underside at each end. There are protruding collars to either end, just before the terminal, and there is extensive moulded decoration in foliate form. There is considerable corrosion over at least half the mount. It measures 42.58mm in length, 4.04mm in width and weighs 1.82g. 1500-1700 AD
