A handle sherd of Roman pottery. The fabric is cream coloured with a fine sandy temper. The rim sherd is rolled longitudinally with a deep groove along its centre, and a pronounced thumb-mark at one end where it starts to broaden for attachment to a vessel. The size would suggest that this rim belonged to a large flagon or a small amphora. It measures 75.37mm in length, 40.85mm in width and weighs 66.72g.
