Three adjoining potsherds of Early Medieval date. The breaks are due to recent activity, probably the result of ploughing. The pottery has a brown, partly burnished surface and is tempered with fine grits, some mica and occasional larger white flint. When assembled, the sherds show a vessel, probably hand-made, with a wide and curving groove and resulting rib, running horizontally around it. A clay tile fragment of probable Roman date. It is wedge-shaped, and incomplete due to old breaks. One edge is bent upward at right angles, and is curved and partly concave in profile, suggesting it was roughly formed and misshapen before firing. The attempt at shaping suggest that it might be a fragment of box flue tile, but insufficient remains to be certain. The fragment measures 82mm in length and 55m in width. The upturned edge is 24.3mm in height, and the tile's thickness is c.18mm. It weighs 70.45g.

A Roman pottery bowl base. The fabric resembles Samian ware but has a highly micaceous temper. It is most likely an imitation, but does not resemble either Hadham or Oxford wares. The outer surfaces have the characteristic smooth red slip, rather worn, and the underside of the foot-ring has lost its surface completely. It dates to the third to fourth centuries AD.

This may be part of a floor or wall-mounted tile, and consists of one right-angled corner with a border along both sides decorated with a row of ring and dot motifs made with a stamp 15.07mm in diameter. There are four such motifs in a row running up the tile, and three in a row along the base. The border measures 28.57mm in width along the base and c.49mm in width along the side of the tile.
