a medieval Thetford type ware pottery rim sherd. It is from a cooking pot, with hollow rim, 140mm in diameter, and weighs 24.09g. It is brownish-orange in colour, and is worn smooth by water action. Its shape most closely resembles Dallas 1992, no.95. Thetford ware was produced in the 'Saxo-Norman' period, during the tenth to twelfth centuries.

eight pottery sherds of Saxo-Norman date. There are three cooking pot rims and three body sherds of Thetford type ware, and a rim with handle from a pitcher. None of these has the roulette decoration which is typical of Thetford type ware. There is one rim of St Neots type ware cooking pot. These fabrics were manufactured during the tenth to twelfth centuries.
