A perforated lead weight or spindle whorl. It is circular with a slightly irregular circumference measuring 25.3mm in diameter. It is plano-convex in shape and the the central perforation is approximately circular and 8.5mm in diameter. The spindle whorl is 5.15mm in height and weighs 16.87g.
It is not possible to put a date on this object, but if this is a spindle whorl rather than a weight it could date to any time within the medieval period.
