A copper alloy incomplete Roman bow brooch, Colchester type, 25-65 AD. Part of the spring coil, the pin and part of the catchplate are missing due to old breaks. The wings are short and flat, and the bow is unusually flat with only a slightly convex profile. It has a uniformly narrow, rectangular shape and is not curved. Three coils of the spring are visible to one side of the hook, which is bent forward on to the bow, and the rest is missing. A fragment of catchplate remains at the base of the bow. The brooch measures 13.45mm in width acros the wings, 44.03mm in length, and weighs 3.52g.

A copper alloy Roman bow and fantail brooch fragment. It consists of part of the head, the bow and fantail, and the remains of the catchplate on the reverse. The head loop and pin are missing. The hinge mechanism with semi-cylindrical moulding contains fragments of the bar, and the base of the catchplate is strongly curved round. The bow is flat backed and narrow, with a flat, D-shaped section, and a central rib. It terminates with a triangular 'fantail' the bottom edge of which is uneven with parts missing due to old breaks. A Roman glass rim fragment , probably from a bowl or dish. The glass is a very pale green containing bubbles. The rim is smooth, everted and beaded. The fragment weighs 1.65g. It was discovered associated with Roman pottery sherds of 1st to 4th century date (SF-3D5A36).
