a copper alloy fragment probably from an Anglo-Saxon long brooch. It is square, with broken corners and distorted probably as a result of heat. The upper surface is decorated with a plain central zone, outlined by a single band forming on oval shape. Around this is a zone of wavy lines contained by a futher single band close to the edge of the fragment. The under side is plain. The fragment measures 10.76mm in length and is 9.53mm wide. It weighs 4.69g. It could be the central panel from the head of a cruciform or square-headed brooch.

six potsherds, combined weight 21g, reduced ware, black fabric, micaceous with fine grit and occasional large flint temper. Three adjoining sherds form sharp curve suggesting shoulder of urn. Decorated with combed lines in chevron bands of two and four. Largest sherd is 24.39mm in length and 21mm in width. Other sherds of early Anglo-Saxon date have been recorded from nearby in Yaxley, see SF-409D66 and E3C1E4. Many examples of this type of vessel with linear decoration are known from Spong Hill, Norfolk where they were used for cremations.(Hills et al 1994)

a copper alloy buckle frame of probable Viking date. It is a complete oval with the sides curved upward and a central bar. The pin is missing. At one terminal the oval extends into an animal head, a domed oval 9.8mm in length and 7.1mm wide. There are eyes on either side of the head, and a single line curving round to indicate the mouth. The top of the head is faceted, but also has some corrosion so that the detail is unclear. The arms of the frame are 4.8mm in width and 2.75mm in thickness, and angled at about 45 degrees to the horizontal. The outside edges of the arms are decorated…

part of a copper alloy Anglo-Saxon long brooch. The surfaces are corroded and irregular, possibly due to heat, and the object is incomplete. It is a narrow rectangular strip, with a curve in the centre, 49.31mm in length and about 5.5mm wide, weighing 2.38g. The head of the brooch is incomplete due to old breaks , and the foot terminal is also incomplete, but with a suggestion of a perforation at the base. There are bands of transverse moulding all along the brooch from foot to head, mostly in repeated bands of four grooves . An example from Iklingham illustrated in West 1998, fig.54 …

a complete set of copper alloy tweezers. They measure 57.51mm in length, with the arms measureing 4.54mm near the loop and tapering very slightly to the terminals. One arm terminal bends inwards at right angles. The other has been bent out of shape and the terminal straightened. The tweezers weigh 4.06g. Sheet copper-alloy tweezers of this type are present from the Roman to the medieval period and are very difficult to date more accurately without an excavated context. However, as this example was discovered in an area which has yielded predominantly Anglo-Saxon finds they are perhaps…
