Twelve fragments of clay mould fragments of unknown date. Five fragments appear have clear traces of the internal surfaces of the mould and the other pieces are all made from the same material. Their surfaces are lumpy and pitted. It is not clear what the mould(s) were used for although four of the five fragments which preserve traces of the internal surfaces of the mould have parallel lines on. The clay is very friable. A fine to medium grained sandstone pebble which appears to have been used as a whetstone, but also has areas of pecking. It is an unusual shape for a whetstone and was possibly originally intended to be a polished stone implement such as a battle axe, but was left unfinished and then reused. A folded fragment of sheet gold strip with a narrower strip threaded through and wrapped. Maximum length 13mm; width of wider strip 6mm; thickness 3mm as folded; width of narrow strip 2.5mm; weight 1.43 grams. Non-destructive X-ray fluorescence analysis of the surface indicated a gold content for both of 86-89%, a silver content of 8-10% and at least 1% copper. Though the analysis does not rule out an ancient date, the piece is an undiagnostic fragment which cannot be assigned to a cultural or chronological context. A possible net or thatch weight of unknown date. The object is trapezoidal and is made from a fine grained sandstone. It has three smooth edges and the other edge is broken. The perforation, which is a minimum of 5.3mm in diameter, has been drilled from both sides in the centre of the thinner part of the trapezium. The weight measures a maximum of 80.95mm in length, 61.7mm in width and is between 10.02mm and 18.03mm thick. It weighs 151g.

A chalk spindle whorl of unknown date. The spindle whorl is slightly irregular, but is circular in plan, with a diameter of between 58.72 and 60.68mm and plano-convex in profile with a maximum thickness of 21.27mm. In the centre there is a round perforation which has been drilled from both sides. It is between 6.5 and 15.5mm in diameter. On some parts of the surface working marks are visible and around the central perforation on the flat side there is an oval incised line, about 1mm in width. Weight: 77.55g

A cast copper alloy T-shape brooch of early Roman date. The brooch measures 40.7mm in length, 22mm in width and weighs 9.6g. The cylindrical wings conceal the axis bar for the (missing) hinged pin. Both ends of the wings are damaged. On the crest of the bow is the stub of a loop. The bow projects forwards for c. 15mm, then the angle changes and becomes more vertical. A cast copper alloy finger ring of probable Roman date. The finger ring is plain with no bezel and a consistent width of hoop. It has a diameter of 21.2mm and weighs 1.45g. The hoop has a sub-circular cross-section with a diameter of 2mm and a slightly flattened interior. The exterior of the ring is decorated with four sections of closely-spaced incised transverse parallel lines, interspersed with four plain sections.

An incomplete enamelled cast copper alloy stud of Roman date. The surviving portion measures 18.1mm by 17.5mm by 1.8mm and weighs 1.7g. The stud is broadly pelta-shaped, with a tapering backwards-curving flange top and bottom, for attachment. There are three recesses on the front of the pelta-shaped section, all of which contain traces of enamel. The central cell is broadly hourglass-shaped and contains red enamel. The foot of a cast copper alloy Colchester-Derivative bow brooch of early Roman date. The fragment measures 22.3mm by 6.5mm by 13.9mm (including the catchplate) and weighs 2g. The fragment comprises the lower part of the bow, which narrows gently into a forward-projecting flat semi-circular foot. There is a curving triangular catchplate behind the foot. The front of the brooch, which is slightly convex, is decorated with a longitudinal moulded zigzagged line, which is set within a plain recess.

Six sherds of samian ware pottery of early Roman date. Three are body sherds and three are rim sherds. Two of the rim sherds have external beads and one is plain. All the sherds are oxidised throughout with shiny brownish-orange slips. The fabric contains moderate very small limestone pieces and occasional voids, so the vessels were probably produced at one of the South Gaulish kilns. Total weight: 44g
