A cast copper alloy and iron buckle of medieval or post-medieval date. The small plain oval double-looped oval buckle measures 24.7mm by 20mm by 2.5mm and weighs 3g. The front of the buckle is convex and the back is flat. The central bar is narrowed. A small part of the iron pin survives intact. This simple style of buckle was used right through the Middle Ages and into the post-medieval period, so it is not possible to give it a more precise date (Cuddeford 1996, p. 20).
