A complete medieval cast copper-alloy harness stud. The stud, possibly heraldic, is cast in the shape of an elaborate quatrefoil. The reverse is plain but the front is emblazoned with a moth or butterfly in relief, with prominent features consisting of outstretched wings, segmented thorax, and abdomen, with large antennae on the head. The short and fatter body are perhaps more suggestive of a moth. The antennae and wings have extant remains of white enamel present. This stud on the reverse is slightly offset with a rectangular cross-section and squared end.  H…

Copper alloy Medieval brooch. Lozenge-shaped frame with a triangular cross-section. One corner is pierced and retains a wire pin. The pin runs across a pair of opposed angles and is now bent and only crudely attached through the piercing in the frame. Judging by the foregoing factors and a notable patina variation, the pin may well be a replacement. The interior slope of the frame, top, and outside edges are all decorated, whilst the back is flat and plain.  The four outside edges each have three blind circular pits, and the top edge has four vertical cuts…
