Incomplete elongated rectangular sheet plate with "pin" slot and slight frame recesses, rear part mostly missing, attachment end of front part missing, engraved line parallel with both sides, one rivet hole next to a large circular or part circular cut-out that has been truncated by the break. Complete Romano-British non-enamelled Trumpet brooch in closed position (pin lodged in catchplate). Six-coiled spring. Axis bar / chain-loop held by lug on rear of head. A collar is folded around the waist of the chain-loop and a tab which rises from the top of lug. Half-round "acanthus" moulding on bow between two knurled reel mouldings. Another knurled reel surmounts the circular flat-based foot. Length including chain-loop 53mm. Width/diameter of head 12.5mm. Late 1st - 2nd century.

Romano-British sub-triangular mount, possibly from a vessel, with hollowed reverse, a bird's head in the round at the apex and attachment hole near the lower edge. The object has been wrenched off its parent, with the result that the centre is dented, the lower edge badly distorted, the hole widened and the area around it cracked. Details of the bird's eyes and feathers are carefully engraved and two long curving feathers are engraved below the neck.

Late Saxon copper-alloy bird brooch in two pieces (recent break across neck). Missing parts include the pin, part of the double pin lug, the flap of the catchplate, the beak and both feet. The bird has a triangular tail with a wide transverse moulding at the junction of tail and body, a triangular wing projecting above the back, an aperture between the legs which probably rested on a "perch". At one end a spherical lobe with round recess partly filled with white material, possibly fixative for a missing setting, the other end is broken at a bifurcation or channel, which lines up with a small groove in lobe. In the centre a curved aperture is similar to those in a scabbard chape from Brough, Westmorland (MacGregor 1976 cat. no. 165.)

Romano-British unidentified object: straight and parallel sided cast bar narrowing with concave sides at both ends to a break. Near one end a triangular projection on both sides marks the start of the narrowing. Decoration on both faces consists of a row of six ring-and-dots, and a triplet of transversely engraved lines with single lines following the concave sides at one end. In addition there is a single transverse line on one face only. Probably the handle of a some sort of toll or implement. Length >54mm. Width 9mm. Width across projections 11.5mm. Thickness 2mm.
