Medieval, copper-alloy, large, circular mount depicting the white boar of Richard III, dating to the later 15th century (1470-1485). The mount is gilded, silvered and enamelled and consists of two parts: a decorated disc held in a separate circular frame which has integral rivets and separate roves. The 63.4mm diameter disc has a slightly raised design of a boar walking left on an area of ground. Body sherd from a glazed medieval jug with applied strip on the outer face. The high fired fabric is a reduced mid-grey with a mid-buff on the inner surface only. It has common fine-medium sand temper and very occasional angular pieces of patinated chert/flint up to 1.9mm and very occasional rounded quartz up to 1.2mm. The vessel appears to be wheel thrown with an green glaze on the outer face. On the outer face is a short section of an applied strip, 9.8mm wide and appearing to curve slightly.
