Post medieval silver attachment from unclear item, probably small vessel. The attachment is complete but at one end is solvered to a second curved silver object, probably a vessel wall, too little survives of this second part to identify it. The complete piece is flat with an ornate outline and openwork. The central portion is broadly oval extened at one end into a round ended terminal and at the other into a squared off end. Late Iron Age handle attachment fragment very similar to one found on the Great Chesterford bucket dating to the first century AD. The peice consists of the complete terminal and a short length of projecting arm. The piece has a circular terminal with a domed from and flat back and the remains of a copper alloy rivet though the centre. This rivet is probably seperate but this cannot be identified with certainty due to the modern preservative coating it thickly. A Roman ceramic tessera dating to the period c. AD 43 - 410. The object is sub-square is plan and rectangular in cross section. The fabric is relatively soft fired and pale pink/orange colour with a uniform colour throughout. It is slightly micaceous with probably fine saned inclusion of less than 10% and around 10% rounded grog temper, poorly sorted with the largest visible 2.8mm across but most much smaller. The edges and corners are worn and scratched but the sides appear angled so the slightly rougher back is smaller than the smoother front. The piece is 25.2mm in length, 23.7mm …

Worn and abraded Roman tile sherd with very large flint inclusion dating to AD 40-410. The sherd is bright orange with a paler orange to grey core and c.10% or less fine sand temper. To one corner is an inclusion of flint 13.2 by 9/9mm across. The flint is mid grey with some evidence of fire daamge, presuambly from firing. The tile is 15. 6mm thick and weighs 27.1g.
