A very worn nd corroded copper-alloy post-medieval Nuremberg jetton of anonymous issuer of the Lion of St Mark type dating to c. AD 1500-1570. It has been perforated five times, possibly for reuse. Four holes are fairly equally spaced around the perimeter, made through the reverse, forming a broadly square pattern. A smaller hole has also been made through the obverse at its centre.
Measurements: diameter 26 mm, weight 3.59 g

The jetton measures 23.2 mm in diameter, has a thickness of 0.3 mm,and weighs 1.02 g. It is bent, with the edges folded over slightly on opposing sides of the circumference. The flan has been cracked slightly at these folds.

An incomplete post-medieval copper-alloy Nuremberg jetton of Wolf Laufer I (active 1554-1601) dating 1583-1601. Rose/orb type inscribed AN GOTES SEGEN IS ALES G. Minted at Nuremberg. See Mitchiner (1988, 475) no. 677, for example, though this variant has the legends transposed by comparison and a slight legend variation. NMS-54E852 on this database appears to be similar.
The jetton is bent and twisted and has suffered a loss to one side equating to c. 20% of the original flan. It measures 21.8 mm in diameter, 0.4 mm in thickness, and weighs 0.86 g

This jetton is extremely corroded and has been slightly bent. It has been pierced towards the circumference on the obverse face at 3 o'clock on the obverse, around 10 o'clock on the reverse. presumably for conversion into an item of jewellery. The hole has broken through as a result of old damage.

A corroded 16th-century copper-alloy post-medieval jetton, anonymous issue, 'ship-penny' type, struck at Nuremberg, c. AD 1553-1559 (cf. Mitchiner 1180/1181).
Mitchiner (1988, 374-375) describes these jettons as being of the 'degenerate cross in arcuate yard arm group'. He therefore dates them to the 1550s as they appear closely related to the ship-penny jettons of Jorg Schultes and Hans Schultes I.
