Medieval finger ring, of stirrup shape. The hoop is slightly distorted and abraded along its edges. The ring is set with a roughly rectangular stone, which is held in place by two claws.
The ring is gold, and dates from the 13th century. The stone is blue, and is a sapphire. Surface analysis indicated gold and silver contents of approximately 73–76% and 16–18% respectively, and confirmed the gemstone

A medieval finger ring of iconographic type. The bezel is hexagonal and contains a depiction of God the Father holding the figure of Christ on the Cross. This was the conventional way to portray the Trinity in the late medieval period, though the dove representing the Holy Spirit seems to be absent.
The hoop of the ring is twisted. The twists closest to the bezel are engraved with seven five-petalled flowers and a lupin (?). The five-petalled flower is a recognised reference to the five wounds of Christ and the number seven may be an allusion to the seven sorro…

A probably complete, but now squashed, gold finger-ring (mourning ring) of early- to mid-18th-century date. It has a rectangular bezel for a now missing setting. The bezel's long sides have been squashed in. The exterior is decorated with a pair of grooves that run all around. The hoop remains attached at one end of the bezel, but has been folded and partially torn at the junction, but has become detached at the other. A small, flat gold fragment with possible evidence of deliberate flattening of uncertain date. The fragment is sub-trapezoidal, with a very thin pointed oval cross-section. It appears broken at both shorter ends. Flattening seems to have occurred principally to the longitudinal edges.

A complete gold mourning ring with black enamel decoration and internal inscription, of post-medieval date, c. 1600-1750.
The ring consists of a triangular sectioned gold hoop, with an exposed median ridge of gold. The exterior surface is decorated with heavy blue-black enamelling, which is lost in places, along with a trace of white enamel (probably from a depiction of a skull). A probable Middle Bronze Age (c.1500-1100 BC) solid gold bead of annular form and biconical profile with a central perforation measuring 2.9mm in diameter. It is max.7.6mm in diameter at the centre, narrowing to c.5mm diameter at either end, both of which show areas of damage. The bead stands 5.3mm in height and weighs 1.91g.

Description: Gold finger ring with 'posy' inscription. The finger ring is D-shaped in section with convex outer side and straight inner face. Around three quarters of the inner face is inscribed the legend: 'In thee my choyse I do rejoyes··' (In thee my choice I do rejoice). There are small traces of black enamel in some letters,. A post-medieval gold finger-ring of 18th-century date, probably a wedding ring. The ring is a simple band of D-shaped cross-section, flat internally, and externally plain. On the internal surface are engraved initials TL and GL with saltire stops after each. The letters are open and decorated with hatching. Following the letters is the date Feb 6 1730, the upright of the 'F' of Feb is also hatched. The internal diameter of the hoop is 19.7mm.

A medieval gold finger-ring with five-pointed star bezel containing a blue stone, probably a sapphire. The bezel is faceted, with some bevelling on the lower surface too around a flat base. The shoulders are decorated with three engraved chevrons on each side with an inverted chevron below. These bound multiple finely punched annulets. The hoop has a rounded D-shaped cross-section. It is slightly distorted, but has been straightened since found squashed. It has an internal diameter of c. 17.3mm

A gold finger ring (posy ring), D shaped in section with a flat inner side. There is an incised inscription running around about two-thirds of the inside of the hoop. It reads 'Godly loue cannot remoue', all letters in lower case italics, apart from an initial upper case letter 'G'. The inscription terminates in a stamped maker's mark, possibly an upper case letter 'C'.

A very worn, clipped and damaged earlier 17th-century gold post-medieval halfcrown of James I, London mint (1615-1616 AD; North 2095).
This coin has been bent and torn as a result of old damage. It has been pierced through the obverse between the inner circle and the bust at around 9 o'clock. The hole is at around 10 o'clock on the reverse.
The coin has been examined by the British Museum and, despite the piercing, it was not considered an item of potential Treasure (pers. comm. 8th May 2012).

Circumstances of discovery
On 22nd October 2011 a single gold coin was discovered by metal detector users near Chawton in Hampshire. A further 104 gold coins were discovered on the same spot between 10th December 2011 and 7th January 2012. The coins were reported to Rob Webley, Hampshire FLO, and delivered to the British Museum on 8th March 2012. A silver plated denarius and a copper alloy arrowhead, both found in the vicinity of the coins, were also reported.
