Late Roman copper alloy strap-end pendant or nail cleaner, probably of late 4th century date The strap end pendant nail-cleaner is complete, with an overall length of 70.46mm. The terminal loop is at right angles to the axis of the blade and has a depth of 6.28mm with a perforation of 2.55mm. The piece is thickest at the attachment end at 3.21mm and has straight sides converging to the shoulders defined by C-shaped mouldings. Copper alloy awl of uncertain date The awl has a length of 61.60mm and is composed of a tang and point. The tang (28.2mm long) is of square to rectangular section and tapers to a point. The point (33.4mm long) is of circular section (5.63mm maximum diameter) with straight sides converging to the point. There is no collar or flange between the tang and point. The awl has generally good surface preservation with a dark brown patina. Abrasion marks are discernible at the top of the point.

The spring is broken but remains in place coiled (seven times) around a copper alloy axis bar. The spring is held by a Polden Hill arrangement, with a lug securing the chord at the head. The frame has broken with only one of the two loops present and has a surviving length of 17.63mm, width of 21.73mm and weighs 1.6g. Medieval lead ampulla, probably of late 14th to early 16th century date. The ampulla has suffered some damage, particularly to the reverse side and has a height of 52.69mm. The neck has straight sides which diverge towards the top with a damaged width of 28.81mm. The loops are missing, but begun at the beginning of the neck and had an external length of 13mm. Roman copper alloy wax spatula handle, probably of 2nd to early 3rd century date. The handle is complete, although the iron blade has been lost. The handle has a length of 56.7mm and depicts the bust of the goddess Minerva. Minerva is depicted wearing a crested helmet with a depth at the rim of 17.9mm and a thickness of 10.4mm. There is no decoration on the crest or the helmet, but it is faceted because of filing, with the striations surviving. Hair is depicted beneath the level of the helmet. Copper alloy toggle, probably dating to the late Iron Age, c. 1st century BC to 1st century AD. The toggle or button and loop fastener is incomplete, missing the loop. The head comprises two integral circular discs of 24.9mm width and 12.5mm height (and diameter of disc). The face of each disc is decorated with punched decoration near the edge, possibly intended as pseudo stitch decoration. The discs are 3.1 to 3.6mm thick and have a decorative groove running along their edge. The integral loops begin on the inside of the rear of the discs and are defined by low mouldings forming arcs.…
