Very possibly a Roman copper-alloy issue, but it is very thin and there are no features left on the obverse or reverse, so it may well be a post-medieval or early modern issue.

Cast cu-alloy token, probably dating from the later 18th or 19th century. The obverse of the token is decorated with the 'willow pattern' which is better known from contemporary and modern china. The 'willow pattern' portrays, in one image, a Chinese story: "...There was once a Mandarin who had a beautiful daughter, Koong-se. He employed a secretary, Chang who, while he was attending to his master's accounts, fell in love with Koong-se, much to the anger of the Mandarin, who regarded the secretary as unworthy of his daughter. The secretary was banished and a fence constructed around th…

Cast lead-alloy plaque or token, probably dating from the later medieval or post-medieval period, i.e. c. 1500-1800. The token or plaque is only decorated on the obverse: it depicts circles and what looks like Roman numerals around the outer edge; however, if they are numerals or writing, they are very difficult to read. It is more likely that it is a non-sensical inscription similar to those sometimes found on purse frames or brooches. Furthermore, the token was perforated for suspension. Lead tokens/plaques like these are frequently found by metal-detectorists and notoriously difficu…

Copper-alloy soldo of Maria Theresia dating from 1767.
'Soldo' is a medieval Italian denomination which was minted first in silver (12th century), and later, in the 18th century, in copper. The name derives from the Late Roman denomination solidus and is today related to shilling, Schilling (Austrian), Sou/Sol (French) and Sold (German).

Lead-alloy token probably dating from the late medieval, post-medieval or early modern period. It is very worn on both obverse and reverse, but seems to have had a capital letter on one side and a spider's-web decoration on the other side. Lead-alloy tokens like this one are extremely common and very difficult to date unless they have a company's name or a value printed on their faces. However, they are usually considered to date from c. 1600-1900 when they were used as mining tokens or factory shops where employees could exchange them for goods or labour.

Cu-alloy German jetton of Hans Schultes dating to the later medieval period, c. mid 16th century (c. 1553-1574). It was probably made in Nuremberg, Germany (that part of the legend is missing/obliterated). 16th century 'Nuremberg jettons' are amongst the most common, although earlier jettons (made in England, France and the Low Countries) are known. One of the most common designs on German jettons is the 'Reichsapfel' - the Imperial Orb. The earlier jettons had - like this one - meaningless legends, but later ones incorporated religious mottos. Ours includes both the name of the maker …

Very worn silver or tin-alloy foreign coin or jetton, probably dating from the post-medieval or early modern period. Both sides show incence(?) or candles to either side of the main motif which is one side a carpet and a candle or the sun and on the other a cloaked figure or house. It seems to have been made from very thin metal and is 'crinkled' rather than bent.
