An incomplete base silver denarius, probably a contemporary copy, of Septimius Severus, (193-211 AD), prototype dating to c. AD 198-200. Reverse: VICT PARTHICAE, Victory advancing left, holding wreath and palm; captive seated before. Mint of Rome. The dark colour and brittle nature of the coin strongly suggests it is a contemporary copy.
