The legend around the outside is + TIMETE DEVM (Fear God). The face is 18mm in diameter. The matrix is 21mm high and weighs 6.66g. Harvey and McGuinness attribute anonymous personal seals of this form to the 14th century, and cite 'TIMETE DEVM' as one of the pious phrases commonly employed (1996: 88). The stag's head with cross represents the visions of St Hubert (8th century) and St Eustace (2nd …

A gold circular object which is largely diagnostic but may be a fragment of a worked blank for a Centic stater. Both faces are smooth and flat, and the edges are fractured. It weighs 3.94g, and is approximately 50% complete. The diameter is 15mm and it is 3.9mm thick. Ian leins, curator of Iron Age coins at the British Museum, states that: "The weight and size make it a plausible coin-blank...however, in its damaged state it is not possible to accurately judge its full weight and therefore whether it is a blank or not". Therefore, without markings or any other diagnostic informati…

An example of secondary debitage of Late Neolithic date probably reused as a scraper. A lightbrown transluscent flint, with a light grey and riddish coloured cortext still present on the slightly concave upper face. Sub-square in plan, and roughly D-shaped in section. The underside is flat and smooth, with faint signs of the ripples associated with the bulb of percussion. There are signs of pressure flaking to two of the edges, although these edges remain quite thick. It is probable that this is an ad-hoc tool made from a piece of debitage, rather than a pplanned scraper. 51mm long.…
