Cast copper alloy buckle with integral box-section plate. It is incomplete and very abraded with indeterminate curvilinear and linear decoration on the plate front. There is a remnant of the leather in place in the box. It is probably late medieval in date.

A cast copper-alloy double-loop buckle. The frame is asymmetrical, having one rounded and one straight edge. The rounded end has two lobed knops and the central bar is narrowed, with slight protrusions at each end. The straight end is decorated with grooved notches. It was probably used to buckle a spur to a boot and dates from the early to mid 17th century. This buckle is Marshall's Type IIB (1986: 15 - 16, no.7).
