An Anglo-Saxon copper alloy dress hook or 'hooked (tag) - fastener'. 8th - 9th century AD in date. The hook is in the form of a circular plate with two perforated attachment holes near the outer edge .The hook is slightly elongated and slightly tapered towards the end, with an overturned hook with part of the tip missing. No decoration on either the face or the reverse.

A medieval annular buckle brooch, c. 1250 - 1350 AD. The circular frame is equally divided by four raised collets, each with a second protruding collet attached to the first, eight collets in total. The face has three oval moulded sections with dividing collars that are oval and humped with four indented circumferential lines of dotted punch marks. In the fourth segment the constriction bar is narrow and recessed with small raised collars where a small plain slender bent over swivelling pin rests.The reverse is flat and plain.

A 14th century composite Strap -End, with sheet spacer occupying the whole width, having two copper alloy rivets one close to the attachment edge and the other passing through the finial. A slightly tapered strap end, with back plate, spacer, and front plate. The tapered plate terminates to an irregular rectangle where the finial (knop) has an additional piece of sheet having radiating grooves; 7.86mm, x 7.01mm The top plate has an engraved zig-zagged, lozenged shaped pattern. A silver Henry III voided long cross penny, c. AD 1216 - 72. Class: Vf (5f). The obverse shows the King's bust crowned and facing forward, with the King's hand holding a sceptre to the left side of the coin. The obverse inscription reads: HENRICVS REX 111. A Roman 2nd century AD Umbonate type plate brooch, These type of brooches are native to Britain and there are five main forms of this brooch, this form is relatively numerous and mostly so in the South - Eastern quarter of Britain. Having a raised Umbonate centre Boss with channel around it, in a flat disk with a notched rim. A Scandinavian brooch, 9th century, of openwork lozenge form, in very good condition and with decoration moulded in relief. The perforations leave a simple cross motif with a globule in the centre. The arms of the cross terminate in stylised animal heads, the eyes small domes in sunk relief, inboard of which are pairs of larger oval elements at an angle to one another, which represent ears. The reverse has a hinge and hook plate where there is still the remains of the iron pin. These fittings appear to have been soldered to the rear, rather than being cast integrally.

A 7th century Anglo-Saxon secondary type, series E. continental sceat, c. AD 720 - 740. The obverse shows a porcupine-like figure, with parallel lines in the curve of the body and a triangle at one end. The reverse shows a standard with two angles and lines in corners with a central annulet. Most examples such as this are from the Rhine area or Frisia.

Perforated Stone Battle Axe, Hammer Head Early Bronze Age c. 2.300- 1200 BC. A fragment of a Battle Axe, or stone Hammer, Made from either Millstone Grit, or Oolitic Limestone that' s been ground and worked. Trapezoidal in shape and tapering down to a blunt point, with a hole through the centre at which point the axe has fractured, the hole would of been approximately 24.30 mm in diameter. The top surface being concave in shape, and the sides being flat and with fairly sharp edges, two edges showing some signs of wear.

A late Mesolithic - early Neolithic serrated, retouched blade. The blade is crafted from light grey / grey flint. There are parallel flake scars on the dorsal surface. Both edges are slightly serated having secondary micro re-touching. At the distal point there is the remains of a slight tertiary cortex. The blade is covered all over with an even white / grey patina.

A Neolithic polished flint axe, c. 4.500 - 3.500 BC. A light grey - grey mottled, blotchy flint with an even, polished surface but with some areas of polishing unfinished. There is some slight plough damage to the cutting edge of the axe, and iron staining streaks in places showing where the plough has clipped it several times. Longitudinally, the axe is convex in shape - the break of the slope towards the cutting edge is sharp and at an angle of nearly 45 degrees; towards the butt end of the axe the break of slope is slightly less at around 30 degrees. An incomplete Roman copper alloy Langton Down type brooch dating to c. 43 BC - 43 AD. A two piece brooch with a spring that would have been fully enclosed within a cylinder like housing. The decoration on the upper bow fairly plain with vertical reeding going towards the foot. The bow is also slightly tapered in shape. The pin and catch plate are completely missing. Length: 14.40. W.of wings 17.66. Max. W. bow: 10.50. Max. bow thickness: 1.68. Wt: 1.55 g. Similar to an example from Winbourn (Dorset) (Hattatt 1989, Ref 269).

An incomplete Roman copper alloy Colchester-derivative brooch type B dating c. 65- 80 AD. The spring of seven turns would have been secured by passing the external chord, which is now broken, and the axis bar passes through a lug with two perforations behind the head. The crest on the head runs in a flat ridge down to what would be the tip of the bow where it would have tapered to a point, and is flanked by mouldings on the upper bow. Below the crest the bow is decorated with ridge mouldings that run either side of the central ridge and would have terminated at the tip of the bow. …
